God has been healing me emotionally, physically and spiritually, especially in the past year. Sometimes, the process has felt painfully slow, but I continue to let God lead me in baby steps.
Sometimes, having a full time job and taking steps towards the Race (including support raising) can feel overwhelming, at times. On the other hand, being financially stable is such a huge blessing! Adventures in Missions has so kindly laid out our journey one small step at a time. I continue to do the next, best, right thing, even if it seems insignificant.
So many of the countries and ministry opportunities of the World Race in August have been on my heart years before I even heard of the Race. Not to mention that I am so excited about the people and adventures that this trip will bring.
I invite you into the heart of my trip with my support letter:
Dear friends and family,
I have had mission trips on my heart for years, especially international ones. I have had several opportunities to go on mission trips in the US. I have learned to lean into God in loneliness, trust Him for His provisions, want Him more than I want what I’m asking for, proclaim truth when things are hard and I can’t see beyond the high waves, and to lean in to healing, even when it hurts. This will be my longest trip and first international one.
I first heard of The World Race years ago from racers that I had previously met in small groups. The World Race is an 11-month trip that will be taking us to different countries. This year, there are “hub counties” that are partners of and have built relationships with Adventure in Mission’s World Race. These “hub countries” will be Nicaragua, Ecuador, Thailand, and Cambodia. These hub countries will have connections and opportunities to serve their communities and in surrounding areas. Some of these ministry opportunities include: children’s ministry, church planting, special needs and prison ministry.
The launch date is August 2021. It is super exciting and humbling to even get the chance to race this August. So many of these countries and ministries have been on my heart for years, and even decades, before I even heard of the World Race. I need to have $18,700 by November 2021. This amount includes food, travel, insurance, housing and training.
I know that God is my provider and provides for what He calls me to do. I have seen Him provide through jobs where I’ve had plenty as well as in times where I’ve had no job. I also know that He likes to partner with people. I have learned that the little things don’t just mean a lot—they mean everything!
Would you consider giving $10, $15, or $200? I would also covet and appreciate your prayers for me and my team. I would be so blessed and humbled if you partnered with God through me and my team. You can read my blogs and contribute financially at rachelkemper.theworldrace.org.
I so appreciate your support and participation.
